At Central, our children matter. We offer Bible classes for all age groups. Our classrooms are staffed with volunteers who have a passion for teaching our young ones about God. They use age-appropriate books, videos, crafts, songs, Bible verses, and stories from the Bible to help our children grow in their knowledge of God and his son, Jesus.

Teen Ministry

The Teen Ministry is open to all Middle School and High School students. At Central, our teens are an active and important part of our church family. We have Bible classes available on Sunday mornings. Central’s Teen Ministry is active in church ministries and local volunteer efforts. Our teens coordinate annual trips and even join our adult members on mission trips to places like Haiti and Honduras.

Clothing GiveawayCommunity Give-Aways

Several times each year, our auditorium undergoes a weeklong transformation. All of the chairs are replaced with tables full of donated items to be given away – no strings attached. TV’s, clothes, bicycles, toys, and furniture all make their way to new homes. Hundreds of families from our local community benefit from this effort.

FriendSpeak - Conversational English Ministry

Central is now participating in Friendspeak, a program to help international people improve their conversational English. The program is free of charge and is offered at 9:00 AM each Sunday morning. If you are interested or know someone who might like to improve their English speaking skills please join us at the church building. You may also contact Larry Hagerman at 319-390-4600 for additional information.

ROCK backpackThe ROCK

The ROCK is a program specifically designed to help local, at-risk elementary school children. During the school year, each student who participates in the ROCK receives a backpack. Each week, they return to Central and receive a week’s supply of food items to help supplement their diet. The program is run by volunteers and supported by our members.

Midwest Bible Camp

Central has been a strong and active partner of Midwest Bible Camp (MWBC) for many decades. Our members have served as board members, volunteered as camp directors, cooks, on special projects, or just pitched in as needed.

MWBC is located on Lake Darling in south east Iowa and has been serving area youth since 1953. The MWBC spiritual experience includes morning chapel, Bible classes, campfire singing and talks, nightly cabin devotionals, as well as spontaneous singing, prayer, and reflection time. The constant fellowship with Christian teachers, counselors, staff, and other campers inspires youth to discover joy and freedom in God's blessings.

A typical day also includes swimming, boating, softball, volleyball, tether ball, boche ball, board games, and other fun activities like talent shows and banquets. The MWBC cooks are the best around!! The food is nutritiously balanced and well prepared. Each week offers a great time in a wholesome, positive experience for each camper.
